Low Cost Malaga Airport Parking
Malaga Airport consists of three terminal buildings, each well equipped with all the facilities required by arriving and departing passengers. There is also plenty of parking available at the airport should you wish to bring your own car. Passengers can choose between short and long term parking facilities, as well as private parking facilities located nearby the airport. Recently, a new car park was constructed at the airport, providing an extra 2,500 parking spaces, as well as parking for around 66 coaches. This parking area was built together with the new Terminal 3 at the airport. There is also a new long term parking area available. The airport can be found approximately 8 km from central Malaga, and is an important gateway for the Costa del Sol region of Spain. Around 11 million people pass through Malaga each year, making it the fourth busiest airport in Spain.
The parking area of P2 at Malaga Airport has 1,200 parking spaces available, and is linked to P1. Both P1 and P2 are also connected to Terminal 3 through the transportation hub. Parking for vehicles owned by the car hire companies is available on level 2 of the P2 parking area. The P1 and P2 areas have spaces dedicated to drivers with reduced mobility. For these passengers there are special meeting points located inside and outside of the terminal buildings, at the vehicle parking areas, the arrivals forecourt and the check-in areas. Aena, the company which supports and provides assistance for disabled passengers will collect the person at the Meeting Point, help them with their luggage and with the check-in and security control procedures.
The third area, the General Aviation parking lot, has only 47 spaces available.
Parking prices for all three areas are the same. The first half hour or less of parking is charged at €0.65, the second half hour or less is charged at €1.02, and all or part of each additional hour of parking costs €1.67. Up to four days of parking has a daily maximum charge of €18.30, while from the fifth day onwards, there is a daily maximum charge of €14.65. Payments for parking at the automated machines can be made in cash or with a credit card. They are located on the right hand side of the road by the car hire offices. The third private parking area is just five minutes away from the airport. They offer a compound secured with electric gates, guard dogs, 6 CCTV cameras and 24 hour security. There is also a wash and vacuum service available, as well as full valet service.
